The exclusive and intimate Baines Camp nestles within a huge private concession that borders with the Moremi Game Reserve in the world-renowned Okavango Delta. The elevated camp was named after the 19th-century explorer and painter Thomas Baines Built and was constructed using only commercially grown wood and over 150 000 recycled aluminium cans. Surrounded by papyrus beds and sheltered by shady trees, Baines Camp offers expansive views of the Bora river and lagoon that teem with wildlife.

Highlights

  • Located in NG 32 private concession, Okavango Delta, Botswana
  • Experiences: Game drives, mokoro excursions, boating safaris, elephant interactions, walking safaris, scenic helicopter flights, bird watching, bush dining, African sunsets

The Detail

Baines' Camp prides itself on offering impeccable personalized service, luxurious accommodation, and attention to detail, ensuring an unforgettable safari experience.

Baines’ Camp offers five luxurious Suites, elevated on platforms overlooking the shimmering Boro River. Each suite features an opulent outdoor bathroom with a bathtub and shower, spacious bedrooms with a four-poster bed that can be wheeled out onto the deck, mosquito netting, comfortable seating, overhead fan, in-room safe, hairdryer, minibar, Wi-Fi, and a wooden viewing deck.

The camp facilities include a dining area, lounge, bar, laundry service, swimming pool with salas, and an expansive viewing deck.

There are flexible meal times at Baines’ Camp. Delectable breakfasts, brunches, and lunches are prepared and served to suit your activities and personal preferences. Guests may select bush brunches or lunch picnics, or enjoy gourmet meals in the verandah-style dining room.

The Okavango is famed for its big cats and birdlife, and guests can participate in a variety of game and bird-viewing activities. Expert guides accompany guests on morning and evening game drives. During higher water levels, game drives are combined with motorized boating excursions. Walking safaris afford the opportunity to track and follow Okavango wildlife, and to learn about the plants, birds, and habitats of this wilderness. Alternatively, guests may pole along the tranquil waterways in a mokoro and view the animals from the water.

The Living with Elephants activity is a must-do. This leisurely walk with two semi-habituated elephants is an extraordinarily enriching experience, giving guests a chance for personal interaction with these gentle giants.

Sanctuary Baines' Camp is ideal for solo explorers, couples, and families looking for a luxury safari getaway.
