Balule Game Reserve, in the South African Limpopo province, forms one facet of the extensive, 23 000 square kilometer Kruger National Park biosphere. Hugging the Olifants River, 410 meters above sea level, this reserve is home to an impressive collection of 500 exotic and varied bird species, more than 380 recognised tree species, and 150 mammal groups. The impressive ecozone and rolling landscape are the perfect topographical formula for a romantic stay in the bush - a veritable fest of sights, sounds, exciting safari drives, and amazing nights spent recounting the day's events around a fire as the sun sets.
• Children of all ages are welcome.
The Zulu phrase for paradise is "Ezulwini" - appropriate in relation to the Ezulwini Game Lodges. Alive with the rustle and shimmer of local plantlife, Ezulwini stands as a tribute to the lush and mysterious bush in which it makes its home. With a diverse selection of habitats atrracting guests and enthusiasts from across the country, standing proudly as a member of the Kruger National Park conservancy. This riverine wonderland is the perfect vantage point from which to spot the Big Five, or soak in the crisp, clean air of the Kruger's famous lowveld.
Ezulwini's three game lodges provide a wonderful cross section of the local landscape - from Billy's Lodge, flanked on all sides by impressive indigenous vegetation, to River Lodge, affixed as it is to the banks of the mighty Olifants River, and Paradise Camp - majestic accommodation riveted to the lip of the echoing Olifants River Gorge.
Billy's Lodge provides luxury, thatched accommodation, with twin bed chalets and en-suite bathrooms, intimate living areas, air conditioning and overhead fans, tea and coffee making facilities, mini-bars, insect proof screening, and DSTV televisions. Sleeping up to ten guests, this riverside lodge also boasts a crystal clear swimming pool
River Lodge offers a series of thatched chalets, all with twin beds, with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and overhead fans, satellite televisions, tea and coffee making facilites and mini-bars, and elegant insect screens. The lodge accommodates up to fourteen guests.
Paradise Camp, a gold-era themed tented camp, located at the top of a hill. This charming little hideaway comprises of five rugged log cabins and an exquisitely converted Ox-Wagon Tent. Units are attached to outdoor showers and toilets, as well as being treated to a panoramic view of the surrounding bushveld, and boma dinners eaten under the stars.
Guests at Africa on Foot Camp can enjoy open safari vehicles twice a day, under the supervision of a team of trained and eager game rangers, who add a touch of familiarity to the otherwise wild scenario. Night drives add an extra spotlit dimension to this excitement. Game viewing takes place both on site, and in nearby areas.
Often more hands on, the popular game walks offer guests a "ground-floor" experience of the park. Hiking is also available, and regular fishing trips are also organised for keen anglers.
Ezulwini sports a variety of facilities for its guests, including internet access, fax facilities, nearby airstrip, on-site bar and laundry facilities, dry cleaning and room cleaning services, swimming pool, restaurant, and nearby horse riding and golf courses.
From the reserve's impressive hippo population, to the Big Five, and less common sightings such as the honey badger and civet cat, Balule reserve is a wildlife enthusiast's dream come true.
Adding to the experience are the abundant and colourful bird populations that guarantee a trip out into Balule's surrounding bush is one you're not likely to soon forget.

This Travel Firm is Ready for You!
We have completed the preliminary reservations with this amazing travel firm. Thank God they exist! We would never have been able to figure out how to put the pieces of our trip to AFRICA together without them. They are patient, caring, detailed, and responsive to communications…something you expect, but do not always receive when service is involved. Connect with them via email if you are even thinking about going to Africa. Cheers!

We are a group of ten friends traveling together to Cape Town for the first time. Safari.com was our top choice for travel agents. Leché and Tracy were incredibly helpful and prompt with our questions and bookings. The trip to Sanbona Wildlife Reserve was fantastic, and everything went off without a hitch. We highly recommend Safari.com for your safari plans!

Fadiel was very prompt in responding to my emails. Despite a double booking for our Safari - not his fault - everything worked out well in the end.
