The award-winning, eco-friendly Porini Lion Camp is located on the banks of the seasonal Ntiakatiak River within the Olare Motorogi Conservancy; a pristine and exclusive 22 000-acre wilderness set aside for wildlife conservation. This large area borders the Masai Mara National Reserve and is home to an abundance of animals including the Mara’s renowned Big Cats.
Porini Lion Camp is an ideal base from which to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration or take to the sky to enjoy unparalleled views from a hot air balloon.
The camp boasts ten spacious luxury tents, each tastefully furnished with solar-powered lighting, ensuite bathrooms with showers, and a private verandah.
The camp facilities include a comfortable lounge area as well as both indoor and outdoor dining areas.
Porini Lion Camp offers a unique opportunity to take guided walks with Maasai Warriors and experience day and night game drives within the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. Game drives are conducted in specially designed off-road safari vehicles with expert safari guides to ensure the best possible game-viewing experience. Guests particularly enjoy the drives within the conservancy, where they can experience the wilderness without being surrounded by other tourist vehicles.
The conservancy directly borders the Maasai Mara National Reserve and contains the lower valleys of the Olare Orok and Ntiakitiak rivers, riverine forest, the Ntiakitiak Gorge, and a 12-kilometer escarpment below which are large areas of acacia woodland. The area is teeming with wildlife during the Great Wildebeest Migration (generally June to October), with several prides of lion and many elephants. Endangered species such as rhinos and wild dogs are also present.
Another Wildebeest Migration from Kenya’s Loita Plains to the Mara moves into Ol Kinyei Conservancy, usually by January. Calving takes place there during February and March, after which they move through Olare Motorogi and into the Mara Reserve.
Porini Lion Camp is ideal for solo explorers, couples, and families looking for an authentic and rewarding safari adventure.

Sweet Kim Abrahams was extremely patient with the two of us oldsters. We had computer problems, took a very long time to decide and confirm our intentions and challenged every detail. Thank you Kim
