Arathusa Safari Lodge is one of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve's most enriching and romantic bush getaways. Located within close proximity of the impressive and unfenced Kruger National Park, Arathusa provides the ideal setting in which to engage with the untamed African bush and spend some time appreciating the regions incredible wildlife, including the famous 'Big 5'.
Unless the camp is entirely and exclusively booked, Arathusa does not accommodate guests under the age of twelve years old.
Children aged 12 years and older are welcome at the lodge and will be charged the full adult rate for accommodation.
The Sabi Sands is renowned for Big Cat sightings, and leopards are frequently seen on the reserve.
Arathusa Safari Lodge offers accommodation in thatched-roofed suites, all equipped with en-suite bathrooms, verandahs, mini-bars, air conditioning, mosquito nets, electronic safes, hairdryers, and coffee-making stations.
There are nine Water-Facing Suites that overlook a waterhole teeming with resident hippos and other animals that come to drink. Each suite is spacious and fresh in design, featuring an en-suite bathroom with private indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a private verandah overlooking the waterhole.
Arathusa also has four Bush-Facing Suites that are located remotely, away from the lodge, offering complete privacy. Each spacious, open-plan suite features a lounge area, en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, a private verandah, and a plunge pool.
The lodge facilities include a bar area, dining room, outdoor deck, safety deposit box, reading lounge, infinity swimming pool, curio shop, internet connectivity in the main lodge areas, a traditional open-air boma, and a spa and wellness center with a treatment room overlooking the lodge’s waterhole and the beautiful African bushveld.
Arathusa offers entertainment in the form of guided safari drives – open-vehicle excursions into the park, one conducted in the morning and the other at dusk. These outings are coordinated and conducted by highly trained teams of experienced game rangers and local Shangaan trackers. Guided bush walks are also available during the cooler hours of the day, giving guests the opportunity to get closer to the animals they encounter and engage with the Shangaan team on topics such as local flora, bird habitats, and the area's history.
Arathusa is particularly well known for its leopard population, with regular sightings and familiarity with these animals making for excellent viewing opportunities. Additionally, the area hosts large buffalo herds, elephant groups, numerous lion prides, and other Big Five members. The area is also home to an impressive variety of lowveld game, including zebra, impala, giraffe, and warthog, along with a spectacular array of birdlife.
Accommodation, meals, local brand beverages, teas & coffees, twice-daily game drives in an open safari vehicle, a guided bush walk, and Wi-Fi.
Premium branded beverages, laundry, curio shop purchases, gratuities, items of a personal nature, Sabi Sand vehicle entrance fee, and conservation levy.
